Happy Earthday!

EARTH DAY …Yay? — Or Go Away?

"Corona Virus"—The Brother From A Different Mother!
First off — Happy Earth Day all!

Next we will be examining you!

No … not for the presence of COVID-19. Nothing that physically invasive. Instead,

We’ll be looking under our skin to determine how we see the world as it is today. Go and stand by your front door. Hang it open wide! LOOK! We are all children of Mother EARTH. We are all children of Mother NATURE.
Which is which?

DO — we have before us, the nurturing, loving, understanding, forgiving, teaching, supporting HEALER? The panacea for all in a take out window of life; and it's all warm and ready to be taken home?
OR — Do we have the harsh, blistering, withering, sharp-tongued, willful-to-a-fault, often angry, always unpredictable, hurtful, condescending, and apathetic HARRIDAN?
Some may argue that they are one and the same. I get that. But to kiss us one minute and to whip our behinds the next? That takes a possibly THIRD breed of feminine prowess-ness ruling over our lives. The same “Muther” that does her best to ignore our pleas and send us to our bedroom, sick, hurting, feverish, tossing our gorge … is the same “Mother” that tucks us neatly and safely, loving, and concerned for our well-being into bed at night. ??? Huh?
If life has taught us anything, it is this one precept. The love that doesn’t kill you (Think: “Play Misty For Me”); is the same love that redeems your bruised and aching soul in times when we really, really, really need that “Bridge over Troubled Water”. We need — collectively — for our “Mom Of The Natural Elements”, to step it up here! Now she is either the NURSE, who is helping the afflicted, sharing moral reciprocity, or she is the hard-nose, angst-ridden CRONE, stirring God only knows what else down in her Hell’s Scratch Kitchen of a meal center in some basement dive.
All in all, scratch her skin … and dime-to-a-dollar, she’s both things to us, underneath.
Like it says, that old adage: "You can’t pick your parents, but we can be the child we choose to become".
My vote is for Nurse Ratched: take the good with the bad. "Swallow that pill, dearie ... then, kiss me goodnight!"
‘Nuff said …
